How long does it take?
Totally depends on age and number of children! In general with art about 30-60minutes. 

What if my child doesn’t want to Tiptoe? 
  • Before you begin, make sure your child chooses his or her own special treat. 
  • Have the child be the one who reads it out loud
  • Have the child be the first to answer question.
  • Have child make up his or her own questions.
  • Integrate the reading with their meal of choice.​

What if children get squirmy during reading? 
  • Before you begin, make sure your child chooses his or her own special treat.

  • When necessary—speed them up
  • Remind  them that if they can  just hang in there a little longer they will get their treat.
  • It  is okay to play with toy or some other thing with their hands as long as it is not disruptive and  they can answer the questions and participate nicely in the discussion.

​What  if I  don’t like or agree with my child's answer? 
  • If you keep an open mind, you will be surprised how much you will learn from your children.
  • Try to find  something encouraging and positive to say about their answer — “I hadn’t thought about it that way” or  “interesting idea”. 
  • The most important thing is not whether you agree or disagree. It is about respecting their answer.  You will get your chance to  answer the question too.

Children love showing how they understand the portion through art. For younger children, offer to write a title on their illustration. Hint: About the illustrations, this is not an art contest. It is a time of sharing together.

Sweet Reward Tiptoeing Through The Torah with a sweet treat always makes it extra fun and memorable. Cookies, candies, cupcakes, etc. are easy and not messy to eat during illustration time. Parents can bring each week or fund teacher to supply. Children will look forward to participating nicely and celebrating learning Torah with a sweet treat!

Your Tiptoe Torah

  • Take one empty towel roll
  • Tape roll to blank piece of paper, then tape additional blank.
  • Title Page
  • llustrator's Self-Portrait if desired.
  • Begin with Genesis Portion. Alternate taping text pages to illustration pages.
  • Note on Illustrations: If children are young, write for them if they want to add a title to their picture.
  • When finished, add two pieces of paper, then tape to other paper towel roll.

Now your student has made their own personal Torah and have a treasured keepsake.
