Create A Torah

Picture
Help Your Child Create A Torah

Materials Needed: Two empty paper towel rolls, tape, blank paper for illustrations, printed Tiptoe Text, crayons or markers, pens, pencils... As in picture, tape pages together.

Start with an empty paper towel roll, add two blank pages, then the Title Page, followed by the Illustrator’s Self-Portrait.  Add the first Tiptoe Text portion, then begin to alternate text, illustration, text, illustration. To complete the scroll, add three blank pages and wrap around other empty paper towel roll.

Download the Title Page and Illustrator's Self-Portrait by clicking on the links below:

Note:  Young children love to roll it out on the floor to get to the portion of the week.

Create A Cover

Picture
There are numerous ways to make a cover.  We went with felt and cotton balls. The picture here shows Joshua probably getting ready for Simchas Torah, where they will dance with their own Torah at synagogue.

One year, we ended up staying home, dancing with the Torah around our living room.
